Traditional Japanese Martial Art

About Aikido
Aikido is a traditional martial art that is practiced cooperatively. Students learn to blend with an attack and neutralize it without relying only on muscular force, making Aikido effective self-defense for anyone. Students improve concentration, awareness and self-confidence while getting fit and having fun.
Aikido was derived from ancient forms of Jujitsu, as well as classical Japanese sword and spear arts by O-Sensei, Morihei Ueshiba. However, O-Sensei transformed the training methods, techniques, and system of movement of the old martial arts according to his spiritual beliefs which stressed self-realization of the individual and bringing all people of the world together as one family.
